Chapter 19
Elena’s POV
I couldn’t move or keep my eyes closed. My hands shook uncontrollably as I watched Nova strike Caleb, again and again. The officer’s screams cut through the station like knives, and I felt my stomach twist in fear. “Stop… please! Stop!” I begged, my voice breaking. “You don’t have to do this!”
Eric’s jaw was tight. His eyes were cold, unyielding, yet he finally lifted a hand and said, “Enough.”
Nova froze instantly, stepping back. Eric gently covered my eyes with hand again. “You don’t need to see this,” he murmured. “Not another second.”
I clung to him as he carried me toward the exit. The officers cowered in silence, every step he took radiating authority, making it clear nothing in that station mattered except him.
Outside, the night air hit me with a chill. A helicopter was waiting, blades spinning furiously and its rotors whipping the air around us.
“That’s… yours?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Nova’s lips curved faintly. “He cut short the Thompson family’
