Elena’s POV
“Elena,” Eric said sharply, his voice cold as ice. His eyes never left Philip. “Get in the car. Now.” Then he turned fully to me, his expression dark and unreadable. “So this is where you were,” he said quietly. “With Philip. While I waited for two hours.”
“Easy,” Philip cut in, sounding far too relaxed. “She got delayed. Business, remember?” He laughed under his breath. “She came to see me for a contract. She really worked hard for it.”
My stomach dropped. “We had a couple of drinks,” he continued mockingly. “Music, dancing. There was even a little accident. I carried her out myself.” He smirked. “I see why you chose her.”
I pulled away from him, trembling with fury. “Stop it! Why would you lie like that?”
