Elena’s POV
The moment I stepped onto the stage, Mark leaned close and hissed under his breath, telling me to stop embarrassing myself.
I didn’t flinch. I looked straight at him and smiled calmly.
“You’re nervous,” I said quietly. “And we both know why. Because once I start talking, everyone here will know this project was never yours.”
The color drained from his face. Before he could respond, Bella’s voice sliced through the room. She spun toward the guards, fury flashing in her eyes. “Get her out of here. Now. She’s not ruining my event.”
No one moved. Philip had already stepped forward. His voice was low, steady, and impossible to ignore. “That won’t happen. This partnership exists because of me. I asked Elena to speak, and she will. Anyone who has a problem with that can leave.”
