Elena’s POV
With May’s words echoing in my mind, I turned toward my hospital room, my head spinning from the revelation that my life was hanging by a thread. May followed right behind, her steps quick and purposeful. I didn’t care to hear what Eric and Sara were saying anymore; it wasn’t my business. Not now.
But before I could close the door, it swung open with a sharp push, and Eric stormed in. His eyes locked on me, burning with a mix of anger and concern. “What is this?” he growled. “Are you doubting me now? You don’t trust me?”
