Chapter 2
Andrew's parents had often asked us about having grandchildren. Therefore, he didn't object to my idea of having a child.
As a player, he wouldn't mind having a good time in bed with me, as long as I took the lead. Every time he finished, he would leave—called away by some other woman.
This time, his ringing phone interrupted our steamy session. Halting abruptly, he carefully picked up his phone.
I wonder what Millie Santos had said to him. He pulled away from me, put on his clothes, and left.
This had never happened before. In the past, if a lover called, he would put her on speaker. He would flirt with her while making love to me and enjoy the grimace on my face.
Millie spoke to him flirtatiously, feigning anger. He taunted me in their conversation, assuring her that he had no feelings for me. To him, I was just a mission sent by his parents to be accomplished.
Andrew had made similar remarks for five years.
Never had I thought that he would drop whatever he was doing to meet with the 100th lover. Millie must be quite something to have him wrapped around her finger.
She texted me, "See? Andy has real feelings for me. He came rushing to me after I called."
She added, "If I were you, I'd agree to a divorce and set him free."
I chuckled softly as I typed. "How can you be sure he's in love with you? Just minutes ago, he was pumping into me."
Millie went silent. I guess she was fuming. Was that all it took to upset her?
The role of Mrs. Bergman was not a walk in the park. I had met all of Andrew's 99 lovers. He'd ask me to send contraceptives to him in the middle of the night. If he forgot to use protection, he would get his lover to take Plan B.
Andrew was a heartbreaker. After I sent his lover packing, he'd find a new woman in no time. Then, he'd make it up to me one way or another, so I wouldn't complain to my in-laws.
Little did he know that I'd never complain to Richard and Jennifer about his cheating, because I couldn't care less. His problematic behavior only worked in my favor.
The day I saw the two lines on the pregnancy test, I immediately went to the hospital for a checkup. When I confirmed my pregnancy, I told my in-laws before anyone else. Overjoyed, Richard and Jennifer invited us to dinner at their place.
It so happened to be a snowy night with chilly winter winds. On our way to the Bergman residence, Andrew received a call from Millie.
She exclaimed on the other end, "Andy, save me—"
The call ended abruptly. Slamming his foot on the brakes, he yelled at me to get out of the car.
I watched his sculptured face from the passenger seat and caught sight of the seriousness on his face. He'd never shown this expression for any of his previous flings.
I realized he had caught feelings for Millie. When I refused to budge, he kicked the passenger seat door open and kicked me out of his car effortlessly.
"Go meet Dad and Mom!" With that, he sped all the way to Millie's place.
I had looked her up before. She came from an impoverished family with parents who favored her younger brother over her.
Millie started working at bars at a young age. That was how she got into a surprise one-night stand with Andrew. In front of him, she always played the role of a naive, harmless, and doe-eyed woman.
Anyone would have a soft spot for a woman like Millie, who always looked like she was on the verge of tears. They had no clue that she often cursed me behind closed doors.
