Chapter 2
After hanging up the phone, Alyssa hurriedly wiped away her tears and picked up her ID to go out.
But just as she opened the door, she bumped into a man standing in front of her door.
The dense constellation of love bites on Enzo's neck came crashing into Alyssa's field of vision.
Even though she had prepared for Enzo and Nadine's romantic involvement, at this moment, Alyssa still quietly averted her gaze.
Her subtle movement naturally caught Enzo's attention. Plus her slightly red eyes, the man immediately thought of something.
He added a warning tone to his cold voice: 'Alyssa, whether you like it or not, I am with Nadine.'
'I will marry her in the future. Since you live here, you should respect her. Don't say those ridiculous things anymore.'
Alyssa lowered her eyes and replied calmly: 'I understand, Mr. Slater.'
The three words 'Mr. Slater' came out of her mouth, making Enzo feel very uncomfortable.
He looked deeply at the girl in front of him.
He couldn't remember how long it had been since he last heard this title.
In the past, when Alyssa first moved to the Slater family, she always called him 'Mr. Slater' sweetly.
But later, she had other thoughts and always called him by his name, refusing to call him uncle.
He frowned and was about to speak when a female voice suddenly came from behind, breaking their awkward silence.
'Yan Zhou, I've brought my luggage. Which room will I stay in?'
Enzo quickly came back to his senses, took Nadine into his arms as she walked towards him, and said gently: 'You like sunshine. Alyssa's room is south-facing with the best light. I'll let her move to the guest room. From now on, you'll stay here.'
Nadine smiled smugly in her eyes but pretended to be difficult in her words: 'How can I do that?'
'Compared to Liss, I'm the newcomer. Why don't I stay in the guest room?'
After saying that, Nadine was about to walk downstairs, but the next moment, she let out an exclamation of feigned reluctance.
Enzo held her back in his arms, 'You will be my wife in the future, the mistress of this house. How can you stay in the guest room?'
'But Liss has lived in that room for so long. Suddenly asking her to move, won't she be uncomfortable?'
Upon hearing this, Enzo glanced at the girl at the door, 'What's uncomfortable? She has to get used to me getting married, to having a mistress in this house, and to being just an outsider.'
Alyssa's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she pulled out a smile in self-mockery.
An outsider... Yes, he was right. She was indeed just an outsider.
Her lips twisted in a bitter smile: 'I'll pack my things now and move to the guest room.'
Anyway, soon, she would leave, return to her father's embrace, never come back, and never set foot here again.
This place is just Enzo and Nadine's home.
In the following days, Alyssa went to the embassy to handle procedures, leaving early and returning late every day, just to avoid meeting Enzo.
But no matter how much she avoided it, she still witnessed Enzo's intimate love for Nadine.
Nadine had a poor appetite, so he spent a lot of money to hire various famous chefs to cook for her at home.
Nadine was unwell, so he canceled a billion-dollar contract and devoted himself to staying at home with her.
Nadine casually mentioned a piece of jewelry, and within ten minutes, it would be placed in her hands by Enzo himself.
She witnessed it all in silence, neither protesting nor complaining.
While waiting for the immigration procedures to be approved, Alyssa began to pack her things.
She first packed her luggage, then put all the love letters she wrote to Enzo and the sketches she drew in a box, and carried them out to throw away.
Just as she reached the door, she bumped into Enzo who had just bought sweets for Nadine.
Alyssa pretended not to see him and kept her eyes straight as she tried to walk out.
The next moment, her wrist suddenly hurt, and Enzo grabbed her hand.
'Have you been avoiding me these days?'
