Chapter 889 Ivanka’s Expression Was Solemn
This way, it would make Tanya appear as if everything she did was for the sake of justice. Any action she took was merely a response to Ivanka’s excessive behavior.
However, Chiara was not concerned about these appearances. As long as Tanya was willing to act, that was all that mattered to her.
The next moment, Chiara spoke calmly, “I can assure you, I do have evidence to support my words. I’ll send it to your phone later. And if, after seeing the evidence, you still feel like turning a blind eye, then I won’t bother you again. If you don’t cherish Mr. Barkworth, I will do nothing more.”
Tanya’s gaze flickered with mixed emotions as she watched Chiara silently.
Suddenly, Chiara seemed unwilling to say much more to her. She put her mask and sunglasses back on.
Seeing Tanya still staring at her, she simply said with an indifferent expression, “I’ve said all I needed to. I’m sure you don’t want to waste any more time on me, so I’ll take my leave. If fate allows, we’ll be in touch again.”
With that, Chiara did not wait for a response. She smiled at Tanya, nodded, and left.
Tanya watched as Chiara left. Chiara even considerately closed the door for her. She remained seated in her chair. Her expression remained tinged with mixed emotions.
Evidence.
What exactly was the evidence?
Was Chiara really telling the truth?
She remembered Chiara’s suggestion that she could investigate it on her own. Tanya picked up her phone, sent a message to her assistant, then got up and left.
She needed to get to the bottom of this.
If Ivanka really would harm Michael like Chiara said, she would intervene because she would not allow anyone to harm Michael.
With her mind set on this task, Tanya waited patiently.
She was waiting for her assistant’s findings and Chiara’s evidence.
In the blink of an eye, two more days had passed.
Everything at work remained as usual for Ivanka.
However, Ivanka’s expression turned solemn when she received a call from Suki.
After work, she headed straight to Suki’s house.
When Suki opened the door and saw Ivanka’s anxious expression, she said, “Come in first, have some water.”
Ivanka said nothing. She just nodded and walked in.
Suki handed Ivanka a stack of photos and said with a calm expression, “I’ve done my best. These are all I could find. These photos are all printed copies. The originals are no longer available.”
Ivanka pursed her lips and said nothing, but still took the photos from Suki.
In the photo was a woman.
The image was blurry, but the general outline could still be discerned. Beside her was her father. The photos were vintage and dated about twenty years ago.
“She...”
“These were probably destroyed by your father. When I looked into your father’s affairs over the years, I stumbled upon these. The person in the photos should be your mother.”
Even though the photos were blurry, Ivanka could still make out the woman in them. She had fair skin and seemed to possess a natural beauty.
As Ivanka looked at the photos one by one, she saw them in various sweet poses. Their faces were brimming with happiness. Ivanka suddenly felt a little confused.
Was it really like Chiara had described?
Perhaps she had been deceiving herself from the beginning?
However, why had her father never mentioned her mother over all these years? Whenever her mother was brought up, he would either fall silent or change the subject.
