Chapter 890 The Only Person Who Knew

Ivanka looked at the photos in stunned silence. She felt a myriad of emotions swirling inside her, but she could not articulate any of them. Suki sighed softly. “When I stumbled upon this, I was quite shocked too. You’ve been in the dark about your mother all these years, and I thought this might be of some help to you.” Ivanka had never seen her parents’ marriage certificate or divorce papers. Despite her best efforts over the years, this had been intentionally obscured. She could not find any traces at all. She did not expect Suki to find these photos. It was possible that the person behind the cover-up was not aware of the existence of these photos. Suki gazed at Ivanka, who had a solemn expression, and sighed softly. “For now, these are the only leads I could uncover. Your father’s affairs remain a mystery.” Ivanka’s eyes flickered thoughtfully. “It’s not exactly a mystery. Jonah gave me some leads regarding my father.” Suki looked surprised. “What leads?” Ivanka’s lashes trembled as she spoke softly, “Jonah provided me with my father’s whereabouts over the past two years and some information about Uncle Theodore’s interactions with various individuals, including several doctors.” Suki’s expression changed slightly. “They must have had dealings with those doctors. We might be able to trace something through them!” Ivanka nodded. “I’ll have to trouble you on this, Suki.” Suki immediately responded, “It’s no trouble at all! Now that we have a list, I’m sure we’ll uncover a lot of information in no time!” Ivanka smiled. “It’s hard to say. Theodore is very cunning. He likely employed tactics in his dealings with these individuals and wouldn’t have asked all his questions outright. His conversation with the doctors could have seemed like ordinary inquiries, and they might not remember everything Theodore asked them. Suki frowned slightly, but she shook her head the next moment. “It’s unlikely. Although what you said could happen, there’s bound to be at least one doctor among them who knows the whole picture. Give me the list, and I’ll investigate.” Ivanka nodded and sent the list to Suki. Suki looked at the list. She did not recognize any of the names. She scoffed. “He picked lesser-known doctors. It’s a surprise that he would trust them.” Ivanka sneered. “While these people may not be well-known, I know a few of them, and they’re skilled practitioners. He didn’t just pick them randomly.” “Is that so?” Suki’s expression bore a hint of irony. “Don’t worry, I’ll investigate each one thoroughly. I won’t let them off easy.” Ivanka smiled. She knew that no matter how much gratitude she expressed, Suki might not want to hear it. After all, their relationship was close. Ivanka felt guilty about bothering others sometimes without expressing her thanks. However, she kept track of everyone who had helped her. She would never forget their help. Suki picked up her water glass, took a sip, and then looked at Ivanka again. Her voice was calm as she said, “But then again, your uncle is the only one who knew about your mother and father’s situation back then.” Ivanka’s expression bore mixed emotions as she said, “Even though he knew, given the current situation, he could be hiding some truths.”
