Chapter 891 A Mad Dog
Suki sighed wearily. “Yes, he might lie to you for his own interests. He may be leading you into a trap.”
Ivanka sneered. “Forget it, let’s put this matter aside for now. I’ll take my time to investigate it.”
She had never seen her mother before. Although her obsession with her mother ran deep, at the moment, there were many things she needed to do. She needed to investigate all of it.
Suki nodded. “All right.”
Ivanka said, “It’s getting late. I’ll head back now. You should get some rest.”
Suki watched as Ivanka stood up. She quickly followed suit to see her off.
After Ivanka went home, she kept staring at the printed old photos.
...
The next day, Tanya was having a meal with her friend Maeve in a private room.
Maeve noticed that Tanya was distracted. Tanya was pushing around her food with her fork and not eating much. Maeve asked with puzzlement, “What’s going on with you?”
Tanya snapped out of her thoughts. “Nothing.”
Maeve set down her spoon. She stared at Tanya and said, “Nothing? If it’s nothing, why aren’t you eating and why do you seem so preoccupied?”
Maeve was dressed in a striking red outfit today. She looked particularly eye-catching.
However, her facial features only seemed somewhat attractive when she wore makeup, unlike Tanya, whose natural beauty Maeve could only envy.
Tanya’s gaze flickered thoughtfully. This matter had been weighing on her mind. She truly needed someone to give her advice. With that thought in mind, she spoke softly, “I met Chiara yesterday.”
Maeve stared at her incredulously. “Chiara? Why on earth would you meet that woman?”
Chiara’s reputation had taken a nosedive, and many people knew that.
Maeve could not understand why they would still meet.
“She reached out to me.” Tanya picked up her glass and took a sip.
“What? Why did she reach out to you? That woman is like a mad dog now. She wasn’t trying to get you to do something for her, was she? You must not agree!”
Tanya’s expression carried a hint of hesitation. “I shouldn’t agree?”
But what about the evidence...
In other aspects of her life, Tanya was a highly capable woman who rarely needed to consult others. She had her own strong opinions and could achieve impressive results on her own.
However, when it came to Michael, she became indecisive. Most of the time, she actually did not know what to do. She even had to ask for her friend’s advice at the moment.
Actually, Maeve was not particularly sharp, but at that moment, Tanya could only trust her.
After thinking about it, she said softly, “It’s about Ivanka and Michael.”
Maeve was about to speak, but upon hearing this, she paused and asked, “What did she say?”
“She gave me some evidence about Ivanka’s schemes against Michael. I’ve verified it, and those pieces of evidence are real.”
Maeve was a little shocked. “Ivanka has the nerve to go after Michael? Has she lost her mind?”
“She’s probably emboldened by the thought that Michael likes her. That’s why she did so many outrageous things.”
Maeve’s eyelashes trembled. It sounded like Tanya had believed what Chiara said. Right, she said she had verified it.
Things might seem simple on the surface, but who knew how complex they were behind the scenes?
With these thoughts, Maeve looked at Tanya and spoke again.
