Chapter 10
The night Oliver had called, I also learned that Charlotte was pregnant.
After some thought, I decided to go meet her. When I mentioned wanting her to testify, she scoffed and mocked me without hesitation.
I asked her to think about it, reminding her that we were both victims in all of this. What good would it do for us if we kept fighting each other?
Meanwhile, the man who caused all the damage was still out there, living comfortably and without consequences.
Charlotte paused, clearly conflicted. But in the end, she still kicked me out.
Even so, I knew she'd come around. And sure enough, she did.
I presented the pregnancy report. Oliver's name was clearly listed as the father.
I held it up for all to see before passing it to my lawyer to submit to the judge.
