Chapter twenty-three:
TALON’s POV
“My lord, there's a mole somewhere. The soldiers of the Shadow moon pack had escaped, leaving only the citizens in the pack. It doesn't seem right to shed innocent blood so we left them.” Dimitri, the army commander reported.
I raised my head from the desk, looking at him without saying anything. I noticed a fresh scar run from his forehead to his left cheek, his eyes barely escaped the scar. Nowadays, I noticed things that weren't important ever since Amelia left.
“How did you get the scar?” I asked absentmindedly, ignoring his report.
He looked at me, bewildered. He must probably think I was going crazy because I asked how he got the scar. Not that I didn't care for my soldiers, but not the extent of asking how they had gotten a scar. Amelia’s absence was really doing a lot to me. Her scent from her old clothes was part of the things that got me going.
It would probably fade away soon, but I wasn't planning to get it washed nor trash it, not now, not later, not ever.
