Chapter 160 — Challenge day

I gave him a nod and shifted the blanket so he could climb into bed. He sat down slowly and remained on his side. I moved over to lie on his chest. He drew me in by putting his arm over my back. "You are not going to allow anyone to take me, right?" I asked knowing the answer beforehand. "I promise never to let anyone separate you from me. I will always keep you close to my heart. You are mine." I tucked myself deeper into Denzel and dozed off. For now, I knew I was protected. I felt like I was being held when I woke up. I was going to freak out when I opened my eyes and noticed it was Denzel. I relaxed and drew myself closer to him. I have not had such good sleep since I was way younger. I feel like I got enough sleep and did not have any more nightmares. I raised my gaze to appreciate Denzel's facial features. He appeared to be sleeping soundly, as if he were at ease and cared for nothing. His nose appeared to have been broken and not properly set back, leaving a small curvature.
