I held my breath.

“It's a two-way thing…” I heard the hushed whisper of her voice. “I can stop your bloodline, while the blood from our mating can save my people…”
“Oliver…” His voice was deep and low as well. “What happened to your people?”
There was a three-second pause before I heard shuffling on the other end of the door. “You see this mark?” Her voice quivered, “It's a reminder that the days of the sirens are numbered. My people messed with the wrong goddess and this is what we got in return…"
“Isn't there any other way…” Daemon's voice was getting irritated and frustrated, I could tell that much, but I hated the fact that I liked the way he sounded towards her.
“There is no other way, Daemon…” She tried to explain. “I have checked, read, explored, and I've come to with blanks and the only thing that can save us is our mating blood mixed together.”
“Fine…” He said finally. “I'll do it. But before that, do you know how to break a mating bond?”
