Chapter 127 Love At First Sight

Liora's POV I didn't wait for Ethan to pick me up that night. Once the IV was done, I called a cab and headed back to the villa. The next morning, just after I got to the office, Nathan walked over with a young woman. He wasn't as friendly as he used to be. Maybe he was still angry about yesterday. I wanted to explain, but the words wouldn't come. "Liora, you've been handling all this on your own. This is your new assistant, Lily Kirk." Lily stepped forward with a bright smile. Her brown hair curled softly around her shoulders. "Just call me Lily." She looked like she'd just graduated, energetic and eager. I nodded. "Liora Woolridge." Then, I turned to Nathan. "Thank you, Nathan. I really appreciated what you did yesterday—" He cut me off, his tone distant and cold. "I'm just doing my job. No need to thank me. If you need anything else, send an email." With that, he turned and walked away. I watched him go and let out a quiet sigh. I'd have to find another chance to explain.
