"I got the email," I blurted out, the words hanging in the air between us like some kind of confession.
Noah glanced up from his dinner, spoon halfway to his mouth. "What email?" he asked, setting the spoon back in his bowl with a soft clink.
"You know, that music internship I've been obsessing over for months? The one at Legacy?" My voice came out shaky, and I could feel Keal stirring inside me, equally anxious about my brother's reaction.
His face lit up instantly. "No way! You actually got it?"
I managed a tight nod, my stomach doing flip-flops. "Six months, paid. The dream gig." The words tasted like victory and guilt all mixed together.
Before I could say another word, Noah was out of his chair and wrapping me in one of his classic bear hugs. "That's amazing, Sil! I knew you could do it!" His enthusiasm made my chest ache.
