The moment we stepped onto the university campus, every pair of eyes locked onto us.
I could feel the stares like physical touches on my skin.
My heart pounded against my ribs, and I fought the urge to shrink into myself.
"Just keep walking," I whispered to myself, trying to ignore how my bandaged hands hung awkwardly at my sides.

Though dressed casually, his Alpha aura remained distinct-elegant, calm, and confident.
Even dressed down in that fitted black t-shirt that hugged his muscles, he commanded attention.
"I don't know why I thought bringing Alpha Sherman was a good idea," I muttered under my breath, not realizing his enhanced hearing could catch every word. "I should have just found a classmate to help."
