Chapter 7
Silvia
The antiseptic smell of the hospital corridor was suffocating, mingling with my anxiety.
My wolf, Keal, was equally restless.
Every nerve in my body felt raw and exposed, like we were both experiencing the physical pain Noah must be feeling.
Three hours and twenty-seven minutes. That's how long Noah had been in surgery.
I checked my watch for the hundredth time, my fingernails digging crescents into my palms.
"Please, Moon Goddess," I whispered, closing my eyes. "Let him be okay. I've already lost too much."
Just then, the doors to the operating room swung open.
My heart lurched as Dr. Levine emerged, his surgical mask pulled down below his chin.
I rushed forward, searching his face for any sign of what he might say.
"Ms. Brown," he said, his eyes crinkling with what looked like relief. "The surgery was successful. Your brother's heart responded well to the procedure."
My knees nearly buckled. "He's going to be okay?"
"He's stable and out of immediate danger," Dr.Levine confirme
