Chapter 34
Roxanne hurriedly hailed a taxi and rushed to the college.
Zachary, her senior and fellow student mentor, had called to tell her their professor's Sunflower painting had gone missing. The professor needed it urgently for a competition.
She was responsible for safekeeping it and had personally locked it away. The studio had multiple storage cabinets, but the key was with her. No one else had access. Thus, she had to go in person.
She texted Zachary on the way. "Zachary, I'm already in the cab. I'll be at school soon. Wait for me there."
"Got it. No rush. As long as we get the painting to the professor today, he'll have plenty of time for tomorrow's competition."
That was easy for him to say, but how could Roxanne possibly take her time?
As soon as the taxi stopped at the college entrance, Roxanne jumped out and sprinted toward the art studio. When she reached the door, she was out of breath.
