#Chapter 91: Cured

I burst through the doors of the quarantine center, my chest heaving with every breath and my hair a frazzled mess. I had run here so fast that my legs felt like they might give out at any moment, but I didn’t care. I only cared about Eric.
“I need to see my brother,” I breathed, slamming my identification card on the front desk. “Now.”
The front desk worker, the same woman from before, opened her mouth to deny my request but quickly shut it again when she saw the terrified look in my eyes. We had been over this before with my father; she wasn’t about to deny entry to anyone in the Griffith family anymore.
Finally, with a nod, the doors slid open and allowed me entry. I followed the armed guards through the maze-like hallways for what felt like the millionth time until we eventually stopped in front of Eric’s cell.
With a few taps on the keypad, the blinds slid up.
