Chapter 24
DOMINIC'S POV
"You're a fool."
My wolf's voice echoed in my head, sharp with frustration. He had been after me ever since that argument I had with Olivia.
"You pushed her away again. Accused her. Hurt her."
I clenched my jaw, gripping the edge of my desk. I knew that.
"Do you?" my wolf sneered. "Because if you did, you wouldn't be here making excuses. You wouldn't be trying to justify the way you keep breaking her."
My body tensed. She was attacking Evelyn again. If she hadn't brought it up, I wouldn't have lost my temper.
"Pathetic excuse," my wolf snapped. "That woman nearly destroyed her, made everyone believe Olivia was a murderer, and wanted you to execute her—even after knowing she was with pup—and yet you still defend her?! She accused Olivia of something she didn't do. If it was simply an accident, then she should have come clean and not accused someone else."
I growled under my breath. It wasn't that simple.
"It is," he snarled. "You just refuse to see it."
