Caitlyn’s POV
I had made my choice. Despite the weight pressing down on me, despite Raymond’s reluctance, I knew I couldn’t turn back now. The Silver Moon Pack’s sacred grounds held the final pieces of the truth I had been searching for, and I wouldn’t stop until I uncovered them. The Council of Elders had already decided—my presence was necessary. Whether they saw me as a savior or a threat remained unclear. But one thing was certain: the time for hesitation had passed.
The air outside the pack house was thick with tension as I packed my few belongings. The moon hung low, still tinged with the eerie remnants of the Blood Moon’s glow. Every instinct in me screamed that war was closer than ever.
Behind me, Raymond leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. He had been watching me in silence for the past five minutes. The longer the silence stretched, the heavier it became.
Finally, I sighed, turning to face him. “If you have something to say, say it.”
