Chapter 649
Maeve opened the door to find Tessa standing there with a puzzled expression. "Ms. Scott, is something wrong?"
Maeve masked her worries with a forced smile. "I don't feel well. I need some seasickness medicine."
"Alright, I'll get it from the doctor."
As Tessa turned to leave, Maeve quickly stopped her. "Wait."
"Ms. Scott, do you need anything else?"
"Weren't we supposed to dock in three days? Why haven't we reached the port yet?"
"I'm not sure either. The ship's course is entirely at Mr. Larson's discretion."
Maeve frowned. Could Liam have discovered something and changed the route?
She forced another smile. "Nothing else. You can go."
"Okay."
While Tessa went to fetch the medicine, Maeve stepped out of the room. As she did, Julian emerged from the hallway and deliberately bumped into her.
Maeve stumbled to the side as Julian said mockingly, "Oh, Ms. Scott, I didn't see you there. Are you alright?"
Noting Julian's provocative look, Maeve had an idea. Well, he asked for it.
"Ouch!" Maeve pretended to fall and cry out in pain.
Julian scoffed, "Ms. Scott, stop pretending. Do you really think I dislocated you with that bump?"
"Ouch... Help... Somebody help!"
Julian panicked as Maeve shouted. With onlooking housekeepers gathered around, he barked, "What are you all staring at? Can't you see she's faking it?"
Frightened, the housekeepers backed away.
Seeing Maeve still on the ground and refusing to get up, Julian rolled up his sleeves and sneered, "Maeve, stop playing the victim! Did you tell Mr. Larson about your seasickness to get me in trouble?
"He chewed me out because of you! And now you're pretending to be hurt to smear me? Don't think I won't lay a hand on you!"
"Ms. Scott!"
Tessa returned with the medicine and saw Maeve on the ground. She rushed over and pleaded with Julian, "Mr. Hartman, Ms. Scott is still weak.
"You shouldn't have laid your hands on her! Mr. Larson said she mustn't be harmed before we dock! You—"
Julian struck Tessa hard, leaving her face red and swollen.
Seeing this, Maeve's eyes grew cold and fury. She glared at Julian with a murderous look.
"You slut! Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me like that? If I can't touch Maeve, I can still deal with you! Believe me, I'll throw you overboard to feed the fish!"
Tessa trembled in fear. Julian had always been arrogant and malicious. He had only behaved because of Liam's orders. If she angered him, he might really throw her into the sea.
