Caden’s POV
I made my way to the reception area of the private ward following Ronan's scent. He was standing there as though he was expecting me.
It felt like I was standing in front of a storm. Ronan’s grey eyes bore into mine, a palpable wave of anger radiating from him as if he were barely restraining his wolf.
His fists clenched at his sides, his towering frame adding to the oppressive energy in the room.
For once, I wasn’t sure if I’d walk out of this meeting unscathed, but for Lila, I’d take whatever he threw my way.
“You’ve crossed a line, Caden.” His voice was low, steady, and all the more menacing for it. It wasn’t a shout, but the weight behind his words hit me harder than any punch could have.
“I know,” I admitted, holding his gaze. “And I’d cross it again if it meant being with her.”
