Chapter 1201

The elevator stopped at the floor where the CEO's office was, and Jackson dragged Serenity out of the elevator. "Let go… What the hell do you want…" Serenity screamed, afraid of Jackson. The icy look on his face, the menace emanating from him, everything about him reeked of danger at this moment. She just could not read his mind. The secretaries around the office dared not even attempt to look at Jackson and Serenity. They waited until Jackson took Serenity into his office before exchanging glances and agreed to act as if nothing had happened. Of course, most of them could not hide the shock in their eyes! Jackson's secretaries knew Serenity, naturally. The secretaries had never seen Mr. Valor so attached to a woman before and secretly talked about it. The possibility of Serenity becoming Mrs. Valor had always been the constant topic of discussion among the secretaries, but Serenity's name had become taboo lately. Recently, someone had gotten fired by the company for unintentionally mentioning Serenity's name. After the incident, Mr. Gunn had warned them not to say anything about Serenity. The secretaries thought Serenity's Cinderella story was over and were surprised by the sudden turn of events. Jackson led Serenity into his office, still holding Serenity's wrist firmly. "Jackson, let go..." Serenity protested, looking flustered. "Yeah. Let you go," Jackson murmured as he loosened his grip on her, causing her to stumble and almost fall. "I really want to know. You were the one who knelt on the ground, begging me to let you go. Why do you keep barging into my life?" Jackson strode over, getting closer and closer, his dangerous vibe making her breathless. Serenity took a stumbling step backward, away from him. "I-It was just a coincidence… I didn't mean to disturb you." "Coincidence?" Jackson sneered, "Isn't that too many coincidences? Okay, let me ask you this. What were you doing at the entrance? Why don't you tell me where you were going that you had to make a stop here?" Jackson's question made Serenity speechless. She herself had no idea why she ended up here! Her mind was reeling, thinking about Peter's case. Without realizing it, she had somehow found herself in front of the Valor Group. "What? Are you speechless?" Her silence intensified the mocking look on his face. Annoyed, Jackson took a few steps forward, moving closer to her. Serenity slowly backed away, but she accidentally tripped and fell on the couch behind her. She tried to get up, but her legs were on the armrests, her back pressed against the couch. She was in an awkward position and struggled to get up. The next moment, Jackson leaned down, putting one hand against the armrest and the other against the couch, confining her in his arms. Serenity was incredibly embarrassed in this position. "W-What do you want?" Serenity glared at him. "Shouldn't I be the one asking you that? What the hell do you want?!" Jackson barked. Did she know? He had been trying so hard to calm his feelings, but his inner storm got worse each time she made an appearance. "Serenity, are you planning something? Like playing hard to get?" Jackson said under his breath, his face so close that she could feel his breath tickling her face. "I'm not!" Serenity denied, her face turning red like a tomato. "So, Lucas wasn't good enough for you? Is that why you're coming back to me?" Jackson asked in a low murmur, his fingers gently caressing her cheek, but the expression on his face remained ice-cold.
