“Right away,” Trent obeyed, dashing ahead and dodging the trees that almost held us down.
The enchanted Woods had no chance in capturing us because Cadell created a fog of darkness that neutralized the charm in them.
That gave Trent and I the chance to escape.
“We’re almost there,” He said, crossing a lonely highway an diving right into the forest at the other side.
As the woods went silent by the minute, I felt something off about our surrounding. It didn’t feel right.
Like we weren’t alone.
It didn’t take long for Trent and I to spot the shadowy figures of Vampires, following us from the sides.
“Those bats again?” Trent groaned, applying speed so he can get to Derby and Mom fast.
“I’m surprised that they came back despite the beating I gave to them.”
“Now you understand why I hate them so much. It’s their Queen’s doing,” Trent grumbled.
I thought about Scarlet, wondering what Cadell did to her when we left.
