"Never heard of him," I lied immediately, knowing full well that these men weren't here looking for a friendly discussion. I wasn't about to associate myself with anyone, let alone a mystery vampire who tried to grab me only two weeks prior. So C is for Charles.
"Oh, I think you have," He countered, folding the photograph back into his pocket, "We've been following you for a while now, Miss Moore. You've been hanging out with the wrong sort of people."
"It's none of your business whom I hang out with," I countered, taking another step back as I debated whether I could just out-run them.
"Charles Carter, what do you know?" He repeated firmly, obviously not appreciating my lack of helpful responses.
