Sara’s Point of View
The soft click of my heels echoed through the pristine corridors of Maximilian’s company as I made my way to his office. My heart pounded in my chest, but I kept my head high, my face calm. I had rehearsed my words a hundred times, crafting them carefully to sound apologetic yet convincing. I had to fix this. I had to make him believe me.
When I reached his office, Clara gave me a wary look. “Miss Sara,” she said, her tone polite but distant, “Mr. Maximilian is busy. It’s not a good time.”
I ignored her, pushing past. “It’s important, Clara,” I said firmly. “He’ll want to hear what I have to say.”
