Chapter 101
Lilah was caught off guard. She stumbled back a step or two until her back hit the elevator wall. Gabriel leaned in close, his towering frame pressing against her as he kissed her with intensity and tenderness.
The elevator kept going up, slowly.
Lilah's hands slid up to wrap around him, doing her best to respond to his kiss.
Soon enough, the elevator dinged.
With only two seconds to spare, they pulled apart. Gabriel quickly straightened his suit jacket, grabbed his laptop bag, and walked out. Lilah followed closely behind.
Lance was already on the rooftop, leaning against the rail and looking down. At first glance, he looked like he might jump.
"Mr. Wallace, you're here."
The pilot had been waiting by the helicopter and came over quickly with a respectful nod as soon as he saw Gabriel.
Lance turned when he heard the voice. The rooftop wind had completely messed up his usually slicked hair; his face, blown out of shape by the wind, noticeably relaxed when he spotted Gabriel. He hurried
