Chapter 96
Eliana stared at Aidan.
Heaven knew how much she wanted to cut the man in front of her into pieces.
She didn't even know why she had been so blind and had fallen in love with this selfish, arrogant, and stupid man.
She tried hard to calm down.
She knew then how much she wanted to follow Evan.
But... she couldn't.
As a mother, she couldn't do anything for the child when he was alive, but she couldn't let her child die in vain.
After a long time, she sat up and said firmly, "As a mother, I didn't save my child. I'm guilty. I will live to atone for my crime. But Aidan, you and Laura are the main culprits. Neither of you can live a good life."
Aidan's eyes were cold. His life had long been ruined by this woman. How could he live a good life? he thought to himself.
Eliana let out a sigh of relief. "I want to see Eddie."
"What, you want to kill him before you commit suicide? Again? Do you think I'm going to let you have your way?"
Eliana looked at him. Although her voice was hoarse, there was a trace of hatred in it. "Since the murderer is still alive, why should I die?"
Aidan grabbed her neck and said, "How dare you be so sharp-tongued with me?"
With hatred in her eyes, Eliana stared at him and said, "You're wrong. Having to speak even one more word with someone like you disgusts me. I just want to see my brother."
At that moment, there was a knock at the door.
The secretary, Caleb Leslie, came in and whispered into Aidan's ear, "Aidan, we've investigated it."
"Take this woman to Eddie's room," Aidan said coldly, "and let Robert guard them. If either of them dies, I will only punish Robert."
"Yes, sir." Caleb sent bodyguards to take Eliana out of the room.
After Eliana left, Aidan said with a cold face, "Go ahead."
Caleb reported truthfully.
He knew what Megan and Frank had done to Eliana.
Aidan's face was as gloomy as a thousand-year-old glacier.
'Frank Briggs!' Aidan muttered to himself
That old bastard had dared to touch his woman. He was looking for death.
He sneered at Caleb and said in a harsh voice, "Send all of Frank's previous criminal record to the police station and tell the lawyer to make sure that Frank doesn't leave prison alive."
"Yes, sir."
"And," Aidan rubbed his fingers together and his gaze turned slightly. "Frank's company must go bankrupt in a week. Pass down the order that no one is to help any of Frank's family, including his wife and daughter. Anyone who dares to disobey me is against me. I will not be soft-hearted to my enemies."
Megan, the b*tch, would not end well either... Aidan thought to himself.
Eliana was brought to Eddie's room.
She stood at the door for a long time before she plucked up her courage and pushed it open.
Robert, who had been by Eddie's bed, stood up and bowed to Eliana. "Miss Harvey..."
Eliana did not make a sound. She just walked to the bedside and sat on the edge of the bed.
Eddie was still unconscious after the operation, and he was still in a deep sleep with a pale face at this moment.
Eliana gently stroked his sleeping face, slowly bent over, and pressed her forehead against the back of Eddie's hand.
It was her fault, she told herself.
She regretted what she had done. She didn't care about her innocence.
Anyway, in Aidan's cold eyes, she was already a woman who could be anyone's wife.
Why should she resist?
If she hadn't resisted and had obediently given herself to Frank, would Eddie have avoided such a terrible disaster?
In the end, she, the jinx, completely destroyed the Harvey family.
After half an hour, seeing Eliana's body shaking, Robert asked worriedly, "Miss Harvey, are you all right? I'll ask the nurse to make an extra bed for you and you can rest a little."
Eliana slowly raised her head and looked at Robert. "Robert, can I ask you to do me another favor?"
