Chapter 32
Caleb practically sprang to his feet. His exaggerated reaction startled Olivia. For a moment, it felt as though she had been transported back to their carefree university days.
This was exactly how they used to be in the lab. The three of them would argue endlessly over an idea, and sometimes, things even got physical.
Olivia's tears gradually dried, and a nostalgic smile spread across her face. Fortunately, after taking so many wrong turns over the years, Harold and Caleb were still there to welcome her back.
Noticing her smile, Caleb breathed a sigh of relief. He had been afraid she would bottle everything up, but he didn't like to see her cry either. When he met Harold's eyes, he could tell they were thinking the same thing.
Harold cleared his throat, adopting a stern expression. "Don't think I'll go easy on you just because you cried."
Olivia's eyes widened. She had thought this was just a simple meeting. From the looks of it, Harold had another agenda.
