The hospital staff hooked Annie up to multiple monitors in rapid succession, the machines settling into a steady rhythm of beeps.
William's expression hardened with focus as he moved through the exam with practiced precision, while Christian stood off to the side, his gaze fixed on the pale face resting on the bed.

Finally, William slipped off the stethoscope and let out a long breath. "Relax. She doesn't have any internal injuries. It's a temporary blackout from the impact, plus some superficial wounds. She's fine."
