Scarlett’s POV
I understood the logic and said, “All we can do now is wait for news.”
“Is your head hurting? Let Mona give you a massage.”
“Sure.”
Breakfast was ready. Eleanor emerged from the kitchen, beaming. “Scarlett, you’re up so early today! Uncle Donald and I made breakfast together. He really lives up to being a five-star chef—the plating is absolutely stunning! I even convinced him to take me on as his final apprentice!”
Eleanor’s cheerful voice echoed through the villa, slightly easing the heavy atmosphere. I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to appear more relaxed. I wasn’t a pessimist. Since things had come to this, I could only focus on the positive. Maintaining a hopeful mindset while waiting was, in a way, cheering them on.
After breakfast, I took a stroll in the garden to aid digestion. During my walk, I called my father.
