Davis’s POV
As soon as we stepped out of Dr. Jones’s office, Mr. Robinson snatched Scarlett Taylor’s medical file from me. His frown deepened as he flipped through the pages.
“Do you think this report is reliable?” he asked coldly.
I shook my head. “Hard to say. But I hope it means she doesn’t really have stomach cancer.”
“I hope so too,” he muttered, passing the file back. “But something feels off. Last time I mentioned taking her to the hospital, she completely freaked out. Way too much for someone with nothing to hide.”
“You’re not suggesting Dr. Jones would fake a report for her, are you?”
“It’s not impossible.” He rubbed his temples. “Get Bruce to talk to that hacker friend of his. See if they can break into the hospital’s system. The original files in their database will tell us the truth.”
“Got it. I’ll handle it.” I turned to leave.
“Wait.”
I stopped mid-turn. “Yeah, Mr. Robinson?”
“Look at me.”
“Huh?”
