Chapter 32 There Is a Traitor
Still, Joseph didn't think he had anything to worry about. Nancy was now in the palm of his hand, after all.
"Sebastian couldn't keep his people in check. All it took was a petty bribe to make that fool obey."
As expected, there was a traitor.
Nancy's fingers dug into her palms. She vowed to prove Sebastian wrong to his face this time.
When she looked up again, the iciness in her gaze melted and was replaced with a veil of tenderness. "I didn't expect any less from you, Mr. Joseph. You saw right through it, unlike your stupid brother."
Her compliment was just enough, flattering enough to make Joseph smile, but not so much that it felt fake.
Just as she planned to fish for information about the traitor, a few knocks sounded on the door.
A housekeeper walked in respectfully, voice low as they reported, "Mr. Joseph, we have news. Sebastian's team has publicly announced that Ms. Sullivan betrayed him and has since been expelled from Gates Manor."
The smile on Joseph's face deepened
