KIDNAP
My head buzzed with warmth and euphoria, as the light from the club dazzled in my vision sending a fuzzy kind of thrill through me.
I have never felt this free in all my twenty-three years of life and it was intoxicating.
My eyes scanned the dance floor, taking in almost-naked girls swaying around me while I hunted for Tracy.
She slipped away sometime ago, probably in between our fifth shot or was it the seventh—I can’t really remember anymore.
My brain was clouded and there was a thin line between me being drunk off my ass.
“Gotcha,”I muttered in happiness, when I spotted her.
She pressed close to a man dressed in a neatly sharp suit, his blond hair tousled out of place, like someone had run their hand through them continuously.
And I did not need to guess who—from the way Tracy continuously rubbed her body against his in her poor act of dancing.
“Tracy!” I called out to her, doubting she could hear me over the noise.
The alcohol must be taking effect now, because I stumbled on my steps, almost falling flat on the floor.
‘Shit, that would have been embarrassing,’ I thought.
As if sensing my eyes on hers, Stacy turned to face me.
Her brows raised up in a questioning look.
I pointed in the direction of the door, telling her I was about to leave.
It was a poor decision on my part to come here.
I had told myself to let loose for the night, and I knew I would most definitely regret it tomorrow morning.
Worst of all, the image of Xavier in bed with Natasha still burnt behind my eyes.
Not waiting for her reply, the moment I saw her turn to lock lips with the blond haired man— I staggered backwards moving towards the bar again, to take one last drink and call it a night.
Holding the cup against my lips, hopefully—this would be strong enough to erase Xavier completely out of my mind even for this night, I drank everything up in one go.
Leaving a couple of bills to pay for my drinks, I turned, walking out of the door.
My legs were wobbly from how drunk I was, yet I ignored it, with only one thought in my mind.
Getting home.
My step mother—Vivian, was most definitely burning with anger right now.
And I had no doubts she was thinking of several ways to use this against me.
The worst she could do was to cut my mother’s Medical bills off.
And I cannot let that happen.
I suffered too much only to lose everything now.
My head was foggy, and I could barely make out the shapes.
I stood on the side of the road trying to stop an incoming car which looked like an Uber.
Or was it my drunk eyes seeing things?
The car sped past me, the wind it carried blew dust in my eyes.
My vision blurred and I struggled to clean the particles out of my eyes.
The last will of strength which clouded my drunk mind had left me.
I missed, my steps faltering as I swayed on my feet.
I struggled to keep my balance, but everywhere swirled around and I stumbled to the center of the road.
The light from an incoming car blinded me partially, I could not make out the figures.
Right before I could comprehend what exactly was happening—the loud sound of the tires of the car dragged across the tiled road.
I tumbled, falling to the hard ground.
Pain was the first thing I felt when the granite cut through my skin.
I could hear the shouts of people followed by the slamming of the car doors, along with voices all around me.
“Young master.
I think she’s unconscious,” a masculine voice said, followed by an angry and irritated grunt.
“Pick her up.
How far is the hospital from here?” a deep, dark and velvety voice snapped.
His voice erupted something deep inside of me.
I strained my eyes, wanting so badly to make out the shape of his face, but the darkness pulled me back in.
“Taking her to the hospital would be a risk, young
master.
This would cause a scandal, and have the news all over you tomorrow,” the first man muttered in pity.
The other man’s sigh echoed as he hissed.
“Fine.
I’ll take her to her home”.
His sinful voice rumbled.
And this time, I fought hard against my unconsciousness to know the face of the voice.
Beautiful green eyes filled my vision, as he bent down to my height.
I saw him—staring down at me, his gaze sharp and intense.
One that could cut through a person.
But then, they glowed under the dim light of the night sky.
They pinned down on me, as he picked me up in his arms.
My eyes dropped lower, and I unfortunately could not make out his face structure.
But at least, I knew what his mesmerizing eyes looked like, I thought, succumbing into darkness.
But not before I felt the light tapping on my cheeks followed by his voice.
“Where do you live?” He questioned in irritation.
My lips parted to answer him.
But, then—my next words shocked me to the core.
Yet, everything felt unreal, and I barely even cared.
“Take me with you, please.
I don’t want to go home,” I muttered softly, my voice hoarse, and immediately darkness swallowed me.
————-
‘You have to hide her, Gina.
You know what he’ll do if he finds her,” a man said in fear.
He turned to face me.
I could feel his eyes staring directly at me, yet I could not see his face.
Everything about him sounded very familiar.
My mother’s soft voice, which held terror beneath it, followed.
“I know, I’ll protect her with my life.
He’ll never know the truth.
I won’t allow De—“
Her mouth was moving, but still I couldn't hear a word she said anymore.
Her voice grew distant, as if I was being pulled from a distant memory.
One that sounded very important, and I struggled to hold onto.
I watched myself being sucked back into a deep pool of nothingness.
I groaned on the bed.
My eyelids opened slowly and painfully, only to be greeted by the sight of pitch black darkness.
“Why did I drink so much?” I moaned.
The feeling that I was missing, or rather forgetting something gnawed my mind.
But the pain in my head was too much to bear, so I dismissed that thought.
My head pounded painfully against my skull, as I sat up on the soft bed which I lay.
My gaze slid towards the open window.
The sky outside was dark, telling me it was definitely night time.
‘Where was I?’ I whispered, but my words cut short, as bile rose up my throat.
My legs jumped down from the high comfy bed and onto the floor.
Not hesitating, I ran into the door facing the bed, while hoping it was the bathroom which thankfully it was.
After spilling my guts out, I rinsed my mouth.
I turned, moving to look at myself in the mirror.
But then—I froze when I saw what was behind me.
Rather who.
A man.
No not a man—rather a devilishly handsome man.
He stood still behind me, his eyes staring into my soul through the mirror—thesame place my eyes met his.
I turned, freezing in shock as my hands went to the sink and I held it tightly.
My fingers dug into the hard material as I tried to stabilize myself.
I watched, wanting so badly to sink into the wall, while under the gaze of this stranger.
His lazy eyes dragged from my face, down my body.
I watched as his eyes flared dark, lighting in desire when his beautiful green orbs landed on my breast.
Then they strayed down to where the gown I wore cut in my thighs.
‘Cut in my thighs!’ I shouted internally in alarm, looking down my body to see what I was wearing.
My heart pounded erratically in my chest, remembering clearly that this was not the clothes I had worn to the club.
The clothes on me was a night gown.
One which cut diagonally across my breast, then, stopped at my mid thigh, definitely leaving nothing to imagination.
And that could only mean one thing.
“You changed my clothes?” I questioned in anger.
But it was less like a question, and more of a declaration.
His beautiful orbs dragged back to my face, and I watched as his blank eyes stared at me.
“Yes,” he muttered.
One word and nothing else.
I clenched my fist together, counting in my mind to calm myself and not lose my mind at the thought that this beautiful stranger had just seen me naked.
I took in my strange surroundings.
The light of the bathroom on, telling me most definitely that I had never been to a place like this.
“Where did you bring me?” I growled.
“Why am I here?” I asked, rage flaring through me only just realizing that I was in an unknown location with a man I had no idea of.
Now that I took a good look at this man, my eyes widened in shock when I realized something.
He looked very familiar.
