LUIS'S POV
It smelt like something was burning and fear hung in the air, while the night felt heavy and thick. I was standing by my office window, looking out at the distant flickering city lights. I kept thinking about Camila's face. Why was it so difficult to get in touch with her? So slick? She slipped away like smoke every time I thought I had her figured out. And something in me twisted tighter the more she vanished. Feeling jealous? No obsession. Something ugly and dark that made me restless and tugged at my stomach.
My fists clenched. "Enough." I muttered to myself, but the flames persisted.
Was she meeting anyone else? What was she concealing? My mind was racing with all the worst-case scenarios, and I knew enough to suspect the worst.

"We have the safehouse information, Luis. the people Camila has been seeing. They are filthy. We believe they are speaking to our adversaries.
