Camilla's pov
Although there was a heavy silence in the room, my thoughts were racing. The war was far from over, but the battle was over. I surveyed the shattered remnants of my former world: broken people, broken plans, and broken trust.
Alejandro stood close to me, his eyes alert but weary, as if he was clinging to what remained of us. Neither of us said anything. Words seemed feeble and pointless.
"Did we succeed?"
His gaze remained fixed on mine. "Did we ever truly have an option?"
I felt the urge to scream and ask countless questions. However, my voice stuck somewhere deep inside my constricted throat.
With friends gone, betrayals that pierced deep, and scars that burned, every loss felt like a kick to the gut.
