Chapter 47 The prophecy
Elizabeth’s POV
From the corner of my eye, I glanced his hand giving me his scarf.
I raised one eyebrow.
He extended his hand to my dirty hand.
"It doesn't matter. I’ll do it myself.” I pointed to the rain falling in the sky.
"Take it," he still insisted.
I took the scarf but refrained from seeing his face. I didn’t want him to know that I was crying.
"Well," he cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck, "I never got a chance to pay my respects." He stepped forward.
"Good." I turned, wiped my hands on my scarf, and was about to move forward when his voice stopped me.
"Elizabeth," I hesitated when I heard him murmuring my name so softly. " Look at me, please.” He urged.
