Chapter 2: Compensation
Looking at the back of Della leaving, Ethan's wolf, Raid, roared anxiously. "Ethan, you have wronged our mate! Hurry up and make her stay!"
In a fit of anger, Raid began to fight for the control over his body, but Ethan suppressed him.
“Don’t make a fuss. She can leave even if she wants!" Ethan said to Raid, but his heart seemed to be empty and unsure as well.
"Ethan..." Katie called out softly.
Ethan shook off his strange thoughts. Della was an orphan. If she left him, she would definitely come back sooner or later.
Today, he blamed her wrong.
He would make it up when things were over. For now, he needed to deal with the matter at hand.
Ethan turned to look at the pack doctor and asked, "Kidney infection? Wolfbane? Dying?"
Trembling with fear, the pack doctor glanced at Katie from time to time and said, "It's not a false diagnosis. Alpha, please have mercy on us. It was all Miss Johnson's idea. She said that as long as Luna Della die, she would be the new Luna, so we must listen to her..."
"Fuck off!" he shouted in his Alpha tone in anger. For pack members, such tone was domineering and drowning. In fear, the pack doctor left immediately.
"I have indulged you too much in the past few years." His eyes were gloomy.
"Ethan, I'm sorry. Please forgive me for Oscar's sake," Katie pleaded while crying as she used her brother’s name again as if it was some kind of ticket that would always save her.
Ethan sighed. "This is the last time. Katie. The position of being the Luna in Blue Moon Pack will never belong to you. If you dare to cheat and fool me again, Oscar Johnson won't be able to save you even if he comes back to life."
After leaving the hospital, Ethan immediately tried to connect with Della through mind link. But Della had blocked him completely.
Gritting his teeth, Ethan took out his phone and called Della, but she didn't answer either.
Della seemed to have disappeared from the world, leaving no trace. She was not in her home and places she often went.
…
In the Blood River Pack, Alpha’s mansion.
The man on the sofa in the living room had his legs crossed, and his gold rimmed glasses set off his dignity. "Are you willing to see me now?"
Looking at him, Della twitched her mouth and cried hysterically.
"Brother!"
"Come on, stop crying. Just take revenge on the one who bullied you. Are you afraid that I can't take care if you?" The man asked casually.
Derek Dalton pursed his lips, with anger blazing in eyes.
He took Della with him and they stuck together since their parents passed away many years ago. His sister had suffered grievance without his protection.
He had promised Della that he would not expose her identity. As the Alpha of Blood River Pack and her brother, he wouldn't let go of Ethan that easily.
In terms of strength, Blue Moon Pack was one of the best in America. But it couldn't compete with the Blood River Pack even if it had ten packs.
Being tired of crying, Della said in a hoarse voice, "Brother, I want to reject Ethan."
She realized that as long as Ethan would care about her, he would not allow Katie to plot against her in such a ridiculous way.
For the so-called love, she condescended to compromise. She cut off all her relatives and friends from her life. She had done everything she could for Ethan.
But she couldn't let her self-esteem get fully ruined because of them.
She also didn't want to give it up, but it was for the better.
Derek rubbed her hair dotingly and said, "Okay."
"Pumpkin, as we agreed, all that our parents left in the Blood River Pack, including the position of being an alpha, are yours. Since you have decided to reject that bastard, come back and inherit our pack and businesses. I can build another Pack, which will be a branch that is loyal to the Blood River Pack, and whose new business will be run independently. In the future, you will be the Alpha of Blood River Pack."
Della nodded. "Brother… thank you."
Derek smiled and said, "Come on, don't be so polite to me. Jaden will take you to the Dalton Group and introduce you the industries of our Pack. If there are something you can't do or understand, just tell me. You are the little princess of our pack. Since you are willing to come back, you deserve everything."
Della nodded, feeling warm in her heart, for the first time in a long time.
When she took the cheque to the Blue Moon Pack, she didn't see Ethan. Only Heidi was at home.
At the sight of Della, Heidi remembered that her pocket money had been deducted by Ethan for a month, which made her very angry. So, she said, "Oh, you can't live outside anymore, right? I even thought you were a proud person, but you come back to spend my brother's money."
"The amount of money on this check is enough to cover all that I might have spent from Ethan. No, it should be far more than it. After we officially reject each other, we will no longer owe each other." Della said coldly.
