Giselle didn't respond. She simply tilted her head, a small, taunting smile curling across her lips. Gavin's answer came in the form of a furious punch. They were standing so close that there was no room to dodge or time to react. Giselle's heart lurched in fear. All she could do was shut her eyes tightly and brace for the impact. A grimly optimistic thought crossed her mind. Would this punch count as evidence of domestic violence in a divorce lawsuit? But instead of pain, a deafening bang exploded beside her ear.
