Chapter 61
Rosalie’s POV
Three days had passed since I arrived in Avondale.
The island had lovely weather, but I spent most of my time in my room. As Soren insisted—and per the doctor's orders—I needed to take it very slow for my recovery, just to be safe, for the baby’s sake.
The scent of fresh flowers wafted through the air, and the morning sun poured in through the window, landing softly on my blanket.
Everything was perfect… and yet, it all felt irrelevant.
I had gotten away from Ethan. I had gained the freedom I longed for. So why wasn’t I happy?
I tried not to think about him. But every time I did, it felt like a heavy weight settled on my chest, making it hard to breathe.
I had come so far, and I knew I should carry on with this new life. But my heart… it just needed more time.
Being alone was painful. I needed something—anything—to keep my mind occupied, so I wouldn’t think of him.
