Chapter 24
As he finished collecting his strayed items in the room, he felt antsy. He was excited to get home, to reunite with his family and to introduce his mate to his people. Yet, those feeling were also held back from fear and even guilt. He lived in a remote part of mountains. The terrain they would encounter was difficult and must be traveled by foot, vehicles unable to trek through the deep snow. No true path was carved into the mountain so they would be constantly open to the harshness the wilderness offered. Of course, he was confident in himself to withstand his homeland but she was not. She had to rely on him to survive as she had no wolf to give her natural instincts. Having another person to look out for is pressuring but it also gave him the feeling of gratification, his being loving the idea of providing for his mate.
