After agreeing to withdraw from school, Serena wandered aimlessly down the street, totally zoned out. People brushed past her shoulders as they walked by, but she didn’t feel a thing.
She eventually ended up in the downtown area. Tired, she looked up and spotted a fancy-looking café. Without thinking much, she stepped inside.
Picking a window seat, she waved the waiter over and said decisively, “Bring me one of every coffee on the menu. Same thing for desserts—one of each.”
The waiter hesitated, double-checking politely, “Miss, are you sure you want one of every kind of coffee and dessert? You're by yourself...”
Since the place opened, they’d seen plenty of rich folks around Westbridge, but this was the first time someone so unfamiliar pulled this kind of wildcard order. Was she mentally all there? Could she even pay?
