Author's POV
Dorian stared at the wall, his mind spinning with different thoughts. He couldn't help but think about what his father had said. This power would be gone if he didn't do as asked. Dorian wasn't sure what to do, he knew he couldn't do it.
He wasn't a puppet like Cassian was but he wasn't a rebel like Lucian either. It had always been him alone in his path, trying to make a difference. He had the power to do that now and all he had to lose was his mate.
There was a restlessness in his gut. He stood up from the chair he had been relaxed in and began to head towards her room. It wasn't far from his office, just down the hallway, the last room. He found the door closed but not locked.
He took only a breath before pushing the knob and opening the door. There she stood, in full glory and for a moment he stared. For that glorious moment it was just them both and he couldn't help the way his body trembled with the feelings.
