LUCIAN'S POV
I pressed the phone strongly against my ear.
My eyes lingered on Rhea's face but my attention was on the call and the message the caller was trying to pass. His unnecessary hesitation was starting to annoy me but i did my best not to let that get to me that much. I have to find out about Cassian's wellbeing, not because I care, not because I want him to get better, in fact it's the opposite. I need to know how Cassian is doing so that I can tell for sure if my plan is working.
I held my breath as I waited for the man to speak.
Is this is?
Is my dream finally going to come true?
Is Cassian finally gone for good?
Is he dead?
Actually, I'm not quite sure that I want him dead…yet. I would have enjoyed the view of him struggling for breath on the hospital bed. I would have enjoyed the sight of him dying.
