KADE’S POV
It was easy for Andrea to hate my grandfather.
But this was the man who had raised me. He’d trained me. Yes, sometimes his love was lacking, but I believed he’d done the best he could with what he had, and I would always be grateful to him for that.
With all those feelings and sentiments, hating him was so fucking hard. But day by day, with each aggravating and instigating statement or malevolent action, he was making it much, much easier.
After Andrea followed Zayne out of the room, I closed the door behind them.
I took one steady breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions I was feeling, before turning back to my grandfather.
He spoke first. “Kade, I swear to you, I did not harm that little boy.”
I studied him for a second. He hadn’t bothered to right his glasses, which had gone askew when Andrea attacked him. He had pushed himself off the floor but was leaning heavily against the wall.
