Irene’s POV
“Cassie, I told you I needed some space, right?” I asked her as I took her hand and pulled her inside. My heart was still heaving from the discovery. I didn’t want to bring Cassie into this, it seemed dangerous and until I knew exactly how dangerous this was.
Cassie pulled at my hand, when we got into the sitting room. “You were gone for so long. I checked around but I didn’t see you, just tell me where you've been.”
“I was at my training ground. I was trying to see if I could connect with my wolf,” I said, dragging my feet to the kitchen. I just wanted her to leave this issue. As I washed my hand in the seat, she was still looking at me.
I flashed her a smile as I rubbed my tummy. “I am starving,” I took my seat at the dining table and she joined me. “Well, are you going to join me or not?” I asked her.
Cassie smiled and sat next to me. “Of course, I would join you.”
