Chapter 64
"You don't have the right to talk about him," Jessica snapped.
"Are you two together?" Derrick demanded.
He felt as if a thousand daggers were stabbing his heart, sending a piercing, bone-deep pain through him.
Jessica said nothing in response. She turned and walked toward the car parked a short distance away.
Zachary watched her through the rearview mirror.
"Jess!" Derrick called after her. "Do you even know who Zachary is? Do you really think you could ever enter his world? You and his child got hurt, didn't you? What's the point of clinging to him? When he gets bored, you'll end up with nothing!"
Jessica stopped and stared at the car ahead.
Inside, Zachary's eyes met hers through the window. It was as if their gazes had already connected.
