I pressed my back harder against the large tree behind me the second I felt its eyes on me. Its upper lip pulled back to reveal large canines as it snapped at me, receiving a loud and ominous growl in return from Marcus. He stepped to his right where the other wolf was now standing to block out its vision. He hunched over, his shoulder blades clearly visible as his ears pressed down against his skull and another thunderous growl erupted from deep within his chest. He took a step forward, making my heart skip a beat after seeing that the distance between him and I had increased a great amount with that simple step.
