“What did I do to you?” I scoffed, leaning closer with a cold smirk. “No, sweetheart. It’s what you did to yourself.”
Her head snapped toward me, eyes blazing. “Let me out of here this instant! Where’s my father? I want him here right now!” she shouted, her tone laced with authority, as if she had the power to command me.
“Your father?” I echoed, letting out a low, humorless laugh. “You mean the same man who sold you off? Bella, do you even know what year it is?”
Her eyes widened, confusion flickering across her face as my words sank in. I took a slow step closer, my voice darkening. “Listen carefully, Bella Cook. You’ve lost your memory, but trust me, it won’t stay that way for long.”
She glared at me, her fear masked by defiance. “You think I’m stupid? You think I don’t see what you’re doing? What did you do to me? Why can’t I move my legs? Did you kidnap me and feed me all these lies?” she spat, her voice trembling.
I just stared at her for a moment, almost pitying how fragile
